NOTICE
I would like to bring a serious safety issue to the attention of any of our members who own a late production 2003 (vin # before -VIN 35111542) and all 2004 Corvettes. Due to a design change, the left hand fuel tanks crack and/or leak at the new metal crossover tube. This allows fuel and fuel vapors to leak and fumes to flood the cabin. This is a very serious safety issue (not to mention an emmission law violation). GM has taken the stance that the cars are out of warranty even though emmission warranties are for 80,0000 miles. The dealers want $2,400 to replace the fuel tanks as this is the only repair. Please let our members and the members of our sister clubs know they can go to www.safercar.gov and register a complaint if they drive one of these model Corvettes. They can also call Nathan Ong at NHTSA (202)366-5224 or email him at nathan.ong.CTR@dot.gov
